Follow your child's interests, supplement your standard program, and dig deeper into a specific area of study with Switched-On Schoolhouse Electives! With a variety of subjects and grades available, SOS elective students will enjoy the change of pace and the chance to learn more about topics they're interested in. Learn about some of the greatest authors of all time with SOS British Literature! Students will encounter prominent British authors and their writings across five literary periods: the Middle Ages, Reformation and Renaissance, The Neoclassical Period, Romantic Era, the Modern Age and the Modern Era. Authors studied include William Shakespeare, Tennyson, John Bunyan, William Wordsworth, Lord Byron, Percy Shelley, John Keats, Robert Browning, and C.S. Lewis. Quizzes and tests included. This is a one-semester course. Grades 7-12. New for Switched-On Schoolhouse 2011: New setting to control if students hear audio feedback such as "good job" or "try again."
