Weaver® Homeschool Curriculum

The program is designed so that any of the five volumes can be used for any number of students in K through 6th grades. Color-coded grade level divisions enable the parent/teacher to measure the academic progression of each child. It should take about one year to complete each volume.

The Day by Day Planner is extremely helpful to anyone who is using this curriculum. Wisdom Words, a step-by-step guide to teaching grammar and composition, available from Weaver, is highly recommended to accompany this curriculum as well.

(Math, Grammar, and Phonics are not included in this curriculum.)

To unify your home school, always start with the Sixth Grade ideas and go more in depth. If your student already knows that information, then spend more time on the suggested topics and ideas in this supplement. Keep in mind that it is not so important what year a student studies specific material but it is important to know that they have covered everything they need to know in the 7-12th grade years and can understand and apply that knowledge.

This first grade book is designed to be used for a 36-week period, and contains both practice and border sheets. A brief introduction with teacher instructions, goals and lesson planning, memory verse selections and a penmanship model are included; the majority of the book is comprised of practice sheets labled "Day 1, 2, etc...) and handwriting presentation sheets with a variety of borders. 346 pages, softcover, spiral-bound. Grade 1.

Each level contains daily instructions, test sheets with the words listed for you, games, and a spelling success formula. Success in Spelling 1 suggested for grade 2.

A thorough study of the book of Romans is completed through diagramming and outlining. Spiritual lessons are taught as the student achieves grammatical success. The detailed teacher's manual explains each lesson so that even an inexperienced teacher can successfully teach this program. Answer key is included in the teacher's text.

A consumable student's workbook/text explains the concepts presented and provides practice for each concept.

Highly recommended for any student in grades 7-12 who has completed the skill levels suggested in grade 6 of Wisdom Words. In an age when communication skills are highly prized, the High Way to English grammar is essential for all students. It will train the student to "rightly divide the Word of God" while teaching the child the intricacies of the English language.

Essential for all students during their Jr. High and High School years, and a prerequisite for college entrance!

After reading readiness is in place, 1-2-3 Read! progresses to teaching recognition and sounds of the alphabet. Each letter of the alphabet is learned by rhyme put to song, and by making an animal puppet, which helps the child to remember the sound of the letter. After the introduction of the letters and sounds, 1-2-3 Read! teaches the child to blend the letter sounds to make simple, three letter, short-vowel words. Within a short period of time, the child is reading! Reading books are then introduced and the child learns independence in reading.

Program includes easy-to-use and detailed teaching instructions, games, reinforcement activities, three cassette tapes, a student workbook and a flip chart. Reading practice materials are included.

Necessary for children in grades K-2 and those in older grades who do not yet read fluently. Includes all materials needed for one student, except for additional recommended reading materials.

Includes 200 pages plus appendices, and covers 14 practical chapters of teaching tips, from motivating to letting go. Appendices contain reading lists, quickie word lists for grades 2-6, organizational charts, drills, and assessment activities. You will want this excellent teaching tool at your side, especially if you are just breaking into homeschooling. Along with general guidelines for excellence in teaching, the situations unique to educating at home are also addressed.
