My God

I have a God
& in my mind
He is the one true God
& I believe this because
I have looked around & seen
the beauty of nature’s machinery
& can find no better explanation
than that it was created
by the ultimate artist
the perfect craftsman
& as I stare into the night sky
knowing that the stars are endless
unable to fathom an expanse w/out an end
then I know there is a someone out there
great & wise enough to understand it all

& as I look into my own soul
& into the windows of the souls
of my fellow beings
it is easy to believe that
we made God so mad
that He had to turn us loose
to keep from killing us
in our imperfection

& it just makes sense
that He loved His creation
so much that He took our form
to reestablish fellowship
w/His prodigal children

& there is no doubt in my mind
as sad as I am to say
that if the same thing happened today
we would once again have no
problem finding it in our hearts to kill Him

But in His wisdom & grace
He found a way to turn our hate
into a second chance at eternity

He paid the ultimate price
to offer the ultimate gift
